Another letter to the Editor of The Link

I just sent this letter to The Link,  Let’s see if they have the guts to print it.

To the Editor:

At the last County Council Meeting, a public hearing was held regarding an ordinance that would grant Duke Energy Progress LLC an agreement to pay a fee-in-lieu of property tax for a project, most likely a solar panel installation.  One has to ask, “Why are the citizens of Chesterfield County having to give corporate welfare to Duke Energy?”  Duke, a company that pays its CEO more money than the current total budget of Chesterfield County, does not have to be subsidized by the hard-working taxpayers of Chesterfield; for a project that will only destroy the beauty of our county.  The County Council members should vote a resounding NO to this proposal!
