In July 2017, the Legislature of South Carolina, known for its shortsightedness, canceled the V. C. Summer nuclear plants 3 and 4. This resulted in finger-pointing in all directions and a lost opportunity to ensure the citizens of South Carolina an abundance of clean nuclear electrical capacity.
On the other hand, Southern Company was also building two nuclear plants in Georgia. These plants were built using the same method and contractors as V. C. Summer. They have recently opened, and the result is an abundance of electricity for Georgians.
